Referee

Are you interested in becoming a UQFC referee?

UQFC runs a referee program for UQFC members or those associated with the club.

If you wish to join the UQFC Inhouse Referee programme officiating U9-13 small sided games at Cubberla Creek, please complete UQFC Miniroos In-House Referee Programand we'll contact you at prior to the commencement of the season for details of the training provided. 

For those who have had small-sided match experience and wish to progress to Assistant Referee for full field (U13+) matches and for all others interested in officiating both junior and senior fixtures, please complete UQFC Junior In -House Referee Program and we will contact you directly.

All UQFC Junior Club Referees and Club Assistant Referees will receive comprehensive training and ongoing mentoring and support.  Once trained, you will be eligible to officiate in UQFC games not covered by Football Queensland.

Who can be a referee?


To join the UQFC MINIROOS Referee program you must be:


  • 12 years or above from 1 January 2026, and;
  • be either a member of UQFC, or have a close affiliation to the club.


To join the UQFC JUNIOR Referee program you must be:


  • 13 years or above from 1 January 2026 (for Assistant Referee positions)
  • 14 years or above from 1 January 2026 (for Centre Referee positions)


We also regularly recruit referees for SENIOR games and welcome interest from parents or members of our senior playing group.


All UQFC Junior Club Referees and Club Assistant Referees will receive comprehensive training and ongoing mentoring and support.  Once trained, you will be eligible to officiate in UQFC games not covered by Football Queensland.


UQFC sends out a request for referees for the following season towards the end of the previous year, and runs training courses in January to March of each year.
