Development football is a program offered by UQFC for our under 9, under 10, under 11 and U12 age groups and is suitable for more advanced players. The development teams compete in the highest level MiniRoos competition (Kangaroos - formerly known as Komodo Dragons) run by Football Queensland.
The Director of Football, club selectors and coaches observe players during games and training, then invite players to trial for development teams.
Games are usually played on Saturdays following a home and away format. Training is held on a midweek evening, as determined by your team coach. Development teams have parent coaches. UQFC works with these coaches through grass roots coaching courses held in the early months of each year, or by financially supporting attendance at coaching courses run by Football Queensland.
All players must wear football boots with plastic tags and shin guards. The club will provide team shirts for matches. Training kit and playing shorts are available for purchase at registration or via our online shop.
